What a facial at BeCammo is
A facial is a professional skin treatment for the face, done on a treatment bed. Depending on the type, it cleans the pores, removes dead skin, works on a specific concern or simply gives tired skin a reset.
BeCammo offers three families of facial, plus six combos that put them together:
- Brazilian deep cleansing: a thorough pore cleanse with blackhead extraction.
- Dermaplaning: exfoliation with a professional blade that also removes peach fuzz.
- Microneedling with PDRN: a skin renewal treatment that uses an ingredient derived from salmon DNA.
Facials are available in both salons, Sliema and Swieqi. This page explains each option so you can pick the right one before you book.
Who each facial is for
Most skin types can have a facial. The question is which one. As a starting point:
- Blackheads, oily or congested skin: deep cleansing.
- Dull skin, rough texture or make-up that does not sit well: dermaplaning.
- Fine lines, loss of firmness, enlarged pores or marks: microneedling with PDRN.
- Tired skin that needs glow and hydration: the Skin Glow combo.
- Acne-prone skin with marks left behind: the acne treatment combo.
- You mostly want to relax: one of the SPA options, with facial massage and aromatherapy.
Tell us before your appointment. If you are pregnant, use retinoids or acids, take isotretinoin, or have sunburn, an active infection, a cold sore or irritated skin, tell us before you book and we will advise. Microneedling is not done directly over active, inflamed or infected acne, and every treatment is adapted to your skin on the day.
How a facial is done, step by step
- Skin analysisWe look at your skin and ask about your routine, the products you use and what you want to improve. This is when we confirm that the facial you booked is the right one.
- Cleansing and preparationMake-up, sunscreen and surface oil are removed so the skin is ready for the main step.
- Main treatmentDepending on your facial: pore cleansing and extraction, dermaplaning with a professional blade, or microneedling with PDRN. In the combos, the steps follow one another in the same session.
- Finishing and home-care adviceThe skin is calmed and hydrated. In the SPA options, this is where the facial massage and aromatherapy come in. You leave with advice on what to do at home over the next days.
The single facials are booked as a one-hour slot (1 hour 5 minutes for Dermaplaning SPA). Combos take between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on what they include.
What comes off the skin at each step
The hands-on part of a facial starts with cleansing. The photos below show how it begins and then the cotton pads from one session with deep cleansing and dermaplaning, in the order they were used. Each pair of pads is one step.
The first two steps clear make-up and surface product, so the main treatment works directly on the skin. The last pair shows the main treatment itself.

Our facials, one by one
Brazilian Deep Cleansing, €50
The usual starting point, and the first step of a skincare routine built around you. It clears the build-up of oil, dead skin and everyday pollution that clogs pores and leads to blemishes, blackheads included. Skin feels clean and refreshed afterwards. The products and the method both come from Brazil. About 1 hour.
Dermaplaning Pro, €55
A gentle, non-invasive exfoliation. A professional blade is passed carefully over the skin to lift away dead cells and the fine facial hair known as peach fuzz. Most clients feel only a light tingling. Skin looks brighter and feels softer straight away, make-up goes on more smoothly and skincare absorbs better, with no downtime. Only fine hair is removed, and it does not grow back thicker or darker, because the blade does not change the hair follicle. For coarse or hormonal hair, laser hair removal is the better route. About 1 hour.

Dermaplaning SPA, €70
Dermaplaning plus a relaxing facial massage and aromatherapy. Choose it when you want the smooth skin and also some time to switch off. About 1 hour 5 minutes.
Microneedling PDRN Facial (Salmon DNA), €90
The most advanced facial on our menu. A professional microneedling device makes tiny, controlled channels in the surface of the skin. This prompts the skin's own repair response, encourages collagen and lets the PDRN solution reach further in. PDRN is an ingredient derived from purified salmon DNA, used to support repair, hydration and renewal. It can help with texture, elasticity, fine lines, enlarged pores and superficial acne marks, and it suits clients who want fresher, firmer-looking skin without fillers. Mild redness, warmth or sensitivity is normal and usually eases within 24 to 72 hours. Results build gradually. About 1 hour.
Smooth Skin combos, €71 and €80
Combo Smooth Skin is dermaplaning and eyebrow threading in one 1-hour appointment: smooth skin and a defined brow shape together. Combo Smooth Skin SPA (€80, 1 hour 30) adds a facial massage with aromatherapy.
Clean Skin combos, €75 and €85
Combo Clean Skin puts dermaplaning and Brazilian deep cleansing in the same session. The blade lifts away dead skin and fine hair, then the cleanse clears and unclogs the pores. About 1 hour 15. Combo Clean Skin SPA (€85, 1 hour 30) is the fullest option: dermaplaning, deep cleansing with blackhead extraction, a relaxing facial massage and aromatherapy.
Combo Skin Glow, €85
Dermaplaning followed by microneedling with a skin booster: a blend of vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and a lifting serum. It costs the same as Clean Skin SPA but it is a different treatment. This one is about glow, hydration and firmer-looking skin, not about cleaning the pores. About 1 hour.
Combo Acne Treatment, €90
Brazilian deep cleansing followed by microneedling. The cleanse deals with oil, blackheads and blocked pores first. The microneedling then works on what congestion leaves behind: post-acne marks, enlarged pores, uneven texture and superficial scars. About 1 hour 30. It is also sold as a package of three sessions for €245, which is €25 less than booking them one by one.
Before and after your facial
Before
Stop retinoids, acids and scrubs a few days before, and avoid sunburn. If you plan other treatments, such as brow lamination, have the facial first or on a different day.
After
For the next day or two, keep skincare simple: a gentle cleanser, a moisturiser and sunscreen every morning. Avoid strong actives, sauna and direct sun. After microneedling, skip make-up for the first day and expect some redness. After extractions, do not touch or squeeze.
How often, and how many sessions
A deep cleansing or dermaplaning facial gives a result you can see and feel the same day. Skin renews itself roughly every four weeks, so many people repeat these facials about once a month, or before an event.
Microneedling works differently. The skin keeps regenerating in the weeks after the treatment, so results appear gradually and usually build over a series of sessions, spaced some weeks apart. How many you need depends on your skin and on what you want to treat. We assess this in person and tell you honestly what to expect.
For acne-prone skin there is a set plan: the Combo Acne Treatment package has three sessions, booked automatically 21 days apart. If you need to change one of the dates, tell your beauty professional.
No facial replaces medical care. If you have severe or painful acne, see a doctor or dermatologist as well.

How much is a facial in Malta?
At BeCammo, facials start at €50 for the Brazilian Deep Cleansing. Dermaplaning Pro is €55, Dermaplaning SPA is €70 and the Microneedling PDRN Facial is €90. Combos cost from €71 to €90, and the package of three acne treatment sessions is €245.
What is a PDRN (salmon DNA) facial?
PDRN is an ingredient derived from purified salmon DNA, used to support skin repair and hydration. At BeCammo it is applied with microneedling, which helps it reach further into the skin. It takes about 1 hour and costs €90.
Which facial is best for blackheads?
The Brazilian Deep Cleansing facial (€50). It is designed to unclog pores and remove blackheads, oil and impurities.
Does dermaplaning make hair grow back thicker?
No. Dermaplaning removes only fine facial hair at the surface and does not change the hair follicle, so the hair does not come back thicker or darker.
Does microneedling hurt?
Most clients describe it as tolerable. Mild redness, warmth or sensitivity afterwards is normal and usually improves within 24 to 72 hours.
Can I have a facial if I have active acne?
Often yes, but the treatment is adapted to your skin. Microneedling is not done directly over active, inflamed or infected acne. Tell us before you book and we will advise.
